Collision at Ickburgh

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Ickburgh, near Watton, on Sunday, 1 May at about 1.30pm.

It happened on the B1108 Watton Road near to the junction with Bodney Road when a Kawasaki motorcycle and Vauxhall Meriva travelling in opposite directions were involved in a collision.

The female motorcyclist, aged in her 40s, suffered a serious leg injury as was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by the air ambulance for treatment while the car driver, a man in his 70s, suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and re-opened just before 6pm.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning the driving manner of either the motorcycle or car prior to the incident.
