Arrest made in Haslips Close incident

Police were called to Haslips Close in Norwich shortly before 1am this morning (Monday 22 February 2021) following reports of a disturbance.

A man had entered his neighbour’s property and made threats before returning to his own address where, in a distressed state, locked himself inside.

A number of resources were deployed to the scene including firearms and public order officers and police negotiators.

Following lengthy negotiations, officers forced entry to the property shortly after 6am and detained the man. The incident was safely resolved and no one was injured.

The man, aged in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill and taken into custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned.
