Appeal following assault in Thetford

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Thetford on Saturday 5 December 2020.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was walking on London Road near to the playing fields, at approximately 10.10pm, when he was approached and spoken to by two males. One of the males has then struck the victim to the arm with a tool causing lacerations.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as white. One was wearing a blue jumper and a black body warmer whilst the other was wearing a blue coat and a stripy hat. It’s also believed one of the males was carrying an orange carrier bag.

Officers are trying to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage covering the London Road, Bridge Street and White Hart Street areas between 10.15pm and 11pm on Saturday 5 December.
