A47 Costessey collision appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A47 at Costessey on Saturday (18 September 2021).

The incident happened at 2pm on the slip road from Longwater which joins the A47 eastbound carriageway when a red Peugeot 308 was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, man in his 20s, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed while initial investigations were carried out and the car was recovered. It was reopened just before 6pm.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, may have seen the pedestrian at the roadside or has information concerning the driving manner of the Peugeot. They are also keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the collision.
