Witnesses sought following assault in Sheringham

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of assault which occurred in Sheringham on Wednesday 22 November 2017.

It happened around 11pm on the High Street in the town, where a woman was assaulted by a man who jumped out from behind a bus stop.

The woman, aged in her early 20s, has fallen to the ground after a blow to the head and as a result sustained injuries to her ribs and face.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault.
