Man charged after small explosion

A man has been charged in connection with a small explosion in Norwich yesterday, Wednesday 20 December 2017.

Officers were called around 1.50pm after reports of a small explosion in a bin in the car park at The Forum on Millennium Plain causing the building to be evacuated.

It was quickly confirmed that the explosion was caused by a firework, which had been thrown in the bin.

Ben De-Wilder, aged 24, of Oak Tree Drive in Norwich, has been charged with throwing a firework in a public place. He has been remanded into custody to appear before Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Friday 22 December).
