Weapons and drugs seized - Op Gravity

Police have arrested two people after drugs and weapons were seized during warrants in Great Yarmouth and Caister this morning.

Officers from the Tactical Crime Unit carried out searches at an address in Beach Road, Caister, and an address in Church Court, Great Yarmouth. A quantity of cash, drugs, knives and replica firearms were seized.

A 67-year-old man from the Great Yarmouth area and a 29-year-old man from the Caister area have both been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and remain in police custody to be questioned by officers later.

Detective Sergeant Paul Morton said: "I hope the arrests this morning reassure the local community that we are continuing to target those who are involved in drug dealing in the area.

"Today we have been able to seize a number of weapons and whilst we do not believe the wider public were at risk, we are able to prevent them getting into the wrong hands or being used to commit further crime.

"I would urge anyone who may have information about drug dealing in their community to contact police on 101.”
