Two men assaulted in Fakenham

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in Fakenham at the weekend.

It happened in the early hours of yesterday morning, Sunday 17 December, in an alleyway off the Market Place in the town, when the victim, a man in his late teens, was approached by a group of men and was repeatedly punched and grabbed around the neck.

Another male has tried to intervene; however was also punched in the face.

The incident has continued into the Market Place with the suspects punching and kicking the victims on the ground.

Both victims managed to get away in a taxi and were taken to hospital after suffering head and facial injuries which needed treatment.

Two men, aged in their 20s and 40s, have been arrested in connection with the incident and were taken into police custody for questioning. Both have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
