Aggravated burglary in Thetford prompts police appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Thetford last week.
It happened at approximately 1.30pm last Thursday (10 May) at an address in Winchester Way.
A man entered the property and confronted a teenage girl before threatening a man in his 20s with a knife. The suspect then assaulted the man with a hammer causing injuries to his knee. In an attempt to escape from the house, the male victim jumped out of a first floor window and suffered a broken leg.
The teenage girl managed to flee the property unharmed.
Two iPhones, two mountain bikes and two games consoles were stolen during the incident.
DC Matt Hendry from Thetford CID appealed for further information and said: "Based on the investigation so far, we believe that this could have been a targeted incident as opposed to a random attack. I would urge local residents who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time to contact us.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact DC Matt Hendry at Thetford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
