Bowthorpe affray arrest

A man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and other offences following an incident on the outskirts of Norwich this morning (Monday 16 March 2020).

Officers were called to Jay Gardens, in Bowthorpe, at approximately 6.05am following reports of a domestic incident and concerns for the safety of a man.

Police attended and the alleged suspect locked himself inside the property alone, resulting in a number of resources being deployed to the scene including negotiators and Taser officers.

The incident was safely resolved and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where he remains in custody.

No one was injured and we would like to thank local residents for their patience during this incident.
