Police confirm a woman has died following Norwich collision

Police can confirm a woman has died after being involved in a serious collision in Norwich earlier today (Friday 15 February).

Emergency services were called to Dereham Road shortly after 12.05pm after an HGV cement mixer and VW Polo were involved in a collision.

The driver of the VW, a woman in her late teens, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV was not injured.

The road remains closed between the Bowthorpe roundabout and the junction with Longwater Lane whilst recovery of the vehicles takes place.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, particularly anyone who saw the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the incident or may have any dash camera footage of the incident.

Any witnesses should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Wymondham on 101 quoting incident number 166 of 15 February.

Police currently at scene of road collision

Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a lorry on Dereham Road in Norwich.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 12.05pm today (Friday 15 February).

Emergency services remain on scene and the road has been closed in both directions between the Bowthorpe roundabout and Longwater Lane.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
