Woman jailed after taking hammer to neighbour's fence

A woman has been jailed after pleading guilty to criminal damage, public order offences and the breach of her Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

54-year-old Anne Egglestone of Spinney Close in Thorpe St. Andrew was sentenced on Monday 9 October at Norwich Magistrates Court following the incident, which happened around 6.45pm on 20 August 2017.

Egglestone was arrested after she used a hammer to damage a neighbour’s wooden fence as well as being verbally aggressive towards the victims and attending officers.

She also made a call into the police Contact and Control Room (CCR), which was a direct breach of her CBO, which she received in April 2016 for making unnecessary, rude and obstructive calls to staff.

Egglestone was sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment and was handed a two-year restraining order.
