Firearms incident appeal - Norwich

Police are appealing for witnesses following a firearms incident in Norwich on Saturday (10 March 2018).

It happened at about 4.40pm when police received reports a man had been seen to discharge a firearm from a black Vauxhall Astra travelling on Heigham Street near to the junction Mile Cross Road.

As a result of enquiries officers later traced the suspected vehicle to address in Vale Green where firearms officers were deployed shortly after 11pm.  

An 18-year-old man was subsequently arrested at an address in the early hours on Sunday (11 March) on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of a Class A drug (cocaine).

Police seized an imitation gun and ammunition. The suspect was questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
