Two charged in connection with Norwich knifepoint robbery

Detectives have charged a man and woman in connection with a robbery in Norwich over the weekend.

The incident happened around 8pm on Saturday 9 December 2017, where two people have entered a shop in Heigham Street and have threatened a shop worker with knives.

They demanded money; however when the employee refused, they left without stealing anything.

Ben Ashford of Rackham Road in Norwich and Katie Lane of Shorncliffe Avenue in Norwich, who are both aged 25,  were arrested yesterday (Monday 11 December) in connection with the incident and were subsequently charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. 

Lane was also charged in connection with a separate robbery at a shop in Bowers Avenue in the city yesterday. A member of staff  was threatened, but nothing was stolen.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning, Tuesday 12 December.
