Thetford assault appeal

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Thetford yesterday (11 February 2020).

The incident happened at about 1.15pm as the victim walked on Old Croxton Road near to junction with Ben Culey Drive when she witnessed a man trying to snatch a handbag from an elderly woman.

The victim, aged in her 40s, shouted at the man who then approached her and pushed her in the shoulder. This caused the victim to fall into a wall causing cuts and grazes.

It is believed the elderly woman left the scene and officers have carried out several enquiries in a bid to trace her, but have so far been unsuccessful.
