Man charged in connection with knifepoint robberies

Detectives have charged a man in connection with two knifepoint robberies in King’s Lynn and Downham Market.
 
Police were called to JD Sports in Lynn High Street at about 9.55am on Thursday 10 January after a man entered the store and threatened a female staff member with a knife before stealing trainers, gloves and clothing. 
 
Officers were called to a second incident shortly before 10.30am at Lynn Road in Downham Market where a car was stolen during a knifepoint robbery. 

Daniel York, aged 20 and of London Road in King’s Lynn, has been charged with two counts of robbery, one count of possession of a bladed article, one count of driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

York has been remanded into custody and will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Saturday 12 January).

Detectives investigating two knifepoint robberies in King’s Lynn and Downham Market this morning (Thursday 10 January 2019) have arrested a suspect.

Police were called to JD Sports in Lynn High Street at about 9.55am after a man entered the store and threatened a female staff member with a knife before stealing trainers, gloves and clothing.

Officers were called to a second incident shortly before 10.30am at Lynn Road in Downham Market where a car was stolen during a knifepoint robbery.

Police can confirm a man in his 20s has been arrested in London in connection with the incidents and will be brought back to Norfolk for questioning.

Knifepoint robberies investigation

Detectives are investigating two knifepoint robberies reported in King’s Lynn and Downham Market this morning (Thursday 10 January 2019).

Police were called to JD Sports in Lynn High Street at about 9.55am after a man entered the store and threatened a female staff member with a knife before stealing trainers, gloves and clothing.

Shortly before 10.30am officers were called to Lynn Road in Downham Market after a man was robbed at knifepoint at a petrol station. The suspect stole the victim’s car, a red Vauxhall Corsa registration RA12 TGU, during the incident.

Police are currently searching for the vehicle and anyone who sees the car should not approach the driver and call police immediately on 999.

No one was injured in either incident although victims and witnesses have been left shaken.
