Sudden death - South Walsham

Police investigating the death of a woman in South Walsham can confirm it is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called to a property on Post Office Close at about 9am yesterday morning (Wednesday 8 April 2020) after the body of a woman, aged in her 60s, was found in the garden. She was treated by paramedics but sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A Home Office post mortem examination, held this morning (Thursday 9 April), established the cause of death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner and formal identification will take place in due course. 

The police cordon has now been lifted.

Police can confirm the body of a woman was discovered in the garden of a property in South Walshamthis morning (Wednesday 8 April 2020).

Officers and paramedics were called to an address on Post Office Close shortly before 9am. The woman, aged in her 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The area has been sealed off while officers continue to carry out enquiries.
