Two arrested in connection with lead theft

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of theft offences in Wells.

Officers attended St Nicholas Church, on Church Street at approximately 3.55am this morning (Friday 8 December 2017) after an alarm was triggered.

On arrival, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old were found in a vehicle outside the church. They were both arrested on suspicion of theft and one was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Both men, who are from Essex, were taken to Kings Lynn Police Investigation Centre where they remain awaiting questioning.
