Church collection theft charge

A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with the theft of a charity collection from a church in North Norfolk.

David Gricks, of no fixed abode, has been charged with theft, attempted theft and possession of cannabis.

Gricks is accused of stealing money from a donation box in St Peter’s Church, Sheringham, on 18 January and attempting to steal money from the church yesterday (7 February).

He also faces a drug possession charge after being found with cannabis when he was arrested in West Runton yesterday.

Gricks has been released on bail to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday 5 March.
