Man charged with murder - Norwich

A man has been charged with murder following an incident in Norwich earlier this week.


Police were called to an address in Dolphin Grove just before 10pm on Tuesday 4 June following reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived to find a man in a serious condition. He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but sadly died on Thursday 6 June. 

Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the deceased as James Greene, aged 39 and from Dolphin Grove in Norwich. 

The result of a Home Office post mortem examination which took place on Thursday 6 June is pending further investigation.  

Peter Bruton, aged 26 and of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday 8 June.

Man dies following serious assault in Norwich

A man has died following a serious assault in Norwich earlier this week.

Police were called to an address in Dolphin Grove just before 10pm on Tuesday 4 June following reports of a disturbance. Officers arrived to find a man in a serious condition. He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but sadly died in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 6 June).

Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the deceased as James Greene, aged 39 and from Dolphin Grove in Norwich.

A Home Office post mortem examination is due to take place later today to establish the exact cause of his death.

A man aged in his 20s, who was arrested in connection with the incident has been rearrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Officers have been given more time to question the suspect after successfully obtaining a warrant for further detention from Norwich Magistrates Court.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Chapman, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with James’ family and friends at this time. It appears from our early enquires that James and the suspect were known to each other and our investigations are ongoing to identify the exact cause and circumstances of his death.”   

“We know this incident will have caused concern among local residents. Officers from the Norwich East Safer Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out reassurance patrols in the area over the coming days and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to them.”

Detectives continue to investigate serious assault in Norwich

Detectives are continuing to investigate an incident after a man was seriously assaulted in Norwich on Tuesday 4 June.
 
Officers were called to Dolphin Grove just before 10pm following reports of a disturbance, and arrived to find a man with serious injuries. The victim was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital were he remains in a critical condition.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and remains in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.

Chief Inspector Sonya Humphreys said: "Whilst detectives are continuing with their enquiries to establish the exact circumstances leading up to this incident, we know it will have caused concern among local residents. Officers will be carrying out reassurance patrols in the area over the coming days and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to them or contact the Norwich East Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.”

Serious assault in Norwich

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Norwich last night (Tuesday 4 June).

 

Officers were called to Dolphin Grove just before 10pm following reports of a disturbance, and arrived to find a man with serious injuries. The victim was taken to the N&N and remains in a critical condition.

 

A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident, and remains in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
