Detectives have charged a man in his 50s with a number of sex offences.

Glyn Jones, aged 55 and who now lives in Major Mitchell Drive, Brisbane, Australia, was charged by officers from Norfolk Constabulary’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit.

Jones, who was employed as a high school teacher for the majority of the time given, was charged with 13 offences including 11 counts of indecent assault and two of attempted indecent assault.

Ten of the alleged offences took place in Norfolk, two in Devon and one in Staffordshire. The offences involved seven female victims between 1979 and 1996, all aged 16 or under at the time.

Jones has denied the offences and a trial has been set for 16 January 2017.
