A recruitment opportunity has arisen for the role of Commissioning Support Officer to work within the Policy, Commissioning and Media Directorate in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk (OPCCN).

The core elements of the role are to:

  • To support the Commissioning Manager with the delivery of the OPCCN Commissioning Strategy to deliver the objectives set out in the Police and Crime Plan.
  • To support the Policy and Commissioning Team with commissioning, policy, interventions and services to reduce crime and support victims to cope and recover from their experiences.

To support the Commissioning Manager to maximise external funding available to the OPCC, Norfolk Constabulary

 

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Working in a team to assist with the development of policies, practices, procedures and financial information.
  • Co-ordinating multi agency meetings (e.g. key stakeholders, statutory, non-statutory and third sector)
  • Compiling notes/minutes at internal and multi-agency meetings for distribution.
  • Assisting with the compilation of reports, including reviewing data
  • Educated to 5 GCSE including Maths and English Language or an equivalent qualification/amount of proven work experience.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks with conflicting demands/deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills and integrity necessary to gain and sustain the confidence of colleagues at all levels at the OPCCN, Norfolk Constabulary, strategic partners and voluntary and community sector organisations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate confidently at all levels. (internally/externally)
  • Ability to work within data protection and management of information laws
  • Demonstrate methodical approach, with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills and integrity necessary to gain and sustain the confidence of colleagues at all levels at the OPCCN, Norfolk Constabulary, strategic partners and voluntary and community sector organisations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate confidently at all levels. (internally/externally)
  • Ability to find appropriate solutions to problems using own initiative and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to accurately compose documents and presentation material
  • Good organisational skills to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • Good keyboard skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good Numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Have a ‘can do/problem solving’ approach to a task and pragmatic approach

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Working in Commissioning/procurement e.g. placing of orders, setting up accounts, paying of invoices
  • Organising meetings/small events with partners/internal/external customers
  • Conducting searches for/distributing information to internal/external partners with funding options

 

Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday.  This post is offered on a permanent basis.

This role is varied and will require flexibility. Further criteria can be obtained from the Job Role and Person Specification.

Consideration will be given to whether the post can be delivered on either a part time or job share basis, in line with the organisational requirements of this role.
