Accelerated Misconduct Hearing
Name of Officers: Inspector ‘Y’
Hearing dates / time: Thursday 24th and Friday 25th April 2025. Start time of 24th is 10:00 hours.
Location: Norfolk Constabulary, Operations and Communications Centre, Falconers Chase, Wymondham, NR18 0WW.
Summary of conduct alleged:
It is alleged that the officer in 2023 accessed Athena without a policing purpose on several occasions in connection with two members of the public whom he knew. He shared information from Athena without a policing purpose. Also, between 2017 and 2020 on several occasions the officer took photographs of information contained within force systems on his personal device. He shared some of these images with work colleagues without a policing purpose.
It is alleged that this conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:
It has been determined that the allegations should be heard at an accelerated misconduct hearing.
Following representations, the Chair for the Hearing has made an interim decision that the officer and third parties should be referred to by ciphers, including in the advertisement, during the hearing and any post hearing publication. Any written representations to the Chair in respect of this matter by persons permitted to do so under Regulation 53 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 (as amended), must be received by 17:00 hours Monday 31st March 2025.
This is a public hearing and as such the public and members of the media are permitted to attend. Any application to attend the hearing should be made by 12:00 hours on Monday 21st April 2025 by completing the ‘Apply to attend a misconduct hearing’ via the Norfolk Constabulary website.
