Misconduct Hearing
Name of Officers: Former Officer ‘Z’
Hearing dates / time: Monday 17th – Friday 21st March 2025. Start time of 17th is 10:00 hours.
Location: Norfolk Constabulary, Operations and Communications Centre, Falconers Chase, Wymondham, NR18 0WW.
Summary of conduct alleged:
It is alleged that in April 2020 the former officer committed a sexual assault on a female colleague on two occasions. On an unknown date he also sent her an inappropriate video.
It is also alleged that whilst on duty the officer engaged in several sexually explicit conversations with members of the public via WhatsApp using their personal device.
It is alleged that this conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of:
It was determined that the allegations should be heard at a misconduct hearing.
Following representations, the Chair for the Hearing has made an interim decision that the former officer should be referred to by a cipher, including in the advertisement for and potentially during the hearing, subject to receiving further information. Any written representations to the Chair in respect of this matter by persons permitted to do so under Regulation 36 of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020, must be received by 17:00 hours Thursday 2nd January 2025.
This is a public hearing and as such the public and members of the media are permitted to attend. Any application to attend the hearing should be made by 12:00 hours on Wednesday 12th March 2025 by completing the ‘Apply to attend a misconduct hearing’ via the Norfolk Constabulary website.
