Title
Animal Cruelty
We work closely with other agencies to try and protect animals from abuse, but we also need you to report incidents of cruelty, neglect and mistreatment, so that action can be taken against those responsible.
If you suspect that an animal is being neglected or mistreated, please:
- Write down what you observed, give dates and times when possible.
- Take pictures of the animals in question, but do not put yourself in danger or enter someone’s property without their permission.
- If you can, provide the names and contact information of other people who have information about the abusive situation.
Once you have this information please contact one of the following:
- The RSPCA
- The police on 101
Once you have reported the information, the police or inspectors from the RSPCA do have the power to remove the animal(s) to a place of safety even before a court decides whether or not an offence has been committed.
