Title

Time to Stop

Launched in June 2012, 'Time to stop' is a joint campaign across Norfolk and Suffolk to help prevent rape and serious sexual offences.

The public awareness campaign aims to educate, inform and reassure, and looks to ensure people are armed with knowledge that can help protect them, their friends or their family from becoming a victim, or to know to where to go for help if they have been a victim.

The key messages:

  • Look after yourself and stick with your friends when out and about, don’t let alcohol cloud your judgement and always arrange safe travel home.
  • Rape is sex without consent or where the victim was incapable of consenting through drink, drugs or other means. It is irrelevant, in the eyes of the law, if the two people are in or have previously been in a relationship. No means No... it's that simple!
  • Help is available from the police and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) that are available 24/7 to offer victims of sexual violence specialist care. Call police on 101 or 999 in an emergency or visit the Harbour Centre, Norfolk's Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
