Norfolk Constabulary’s film Safe Scoot promotes the safe use of mobility scooters to prevent users from bumping from into pedestrians or riding too fast on pavements.

The film is presented and narrated by Sheila Reid who is well known as Madge, a mobility scooter user in the hit TV comedy ‘Benidorm’.

Actress Sheila Reid said: “I would strongly encourage all mobility scooter users to watch our DVD Safe Scoot.

“It covers all the most important areas to think about and master to ensure safe and accident-free driving for both you and other people.”

Norfolk Constabulary has commissioned Safe Scoot in partnership with mobility retailer Halfords, to provide a comprehensive guide to using a mobility scooter.

The film is aimed at both existing and new mobility scooter users and covers three key areas:

  • Tips and techniques for staying safe and secure on your scooter
  • Best practice and etiquette
  • Guidance on The Highway Code and the law
