Key Facts

  • The Norwich West neighbourhood is divided into five microbeats – University/Dereham Road, Larkman/Marlpit, West Earlham, Three Score and Clover Hill (Bowthorpe).
  • This account for one quarter of the Norwich policing district and our boundaries match those of Norwich City Council’s West Norwich neighbourhood.
  • Key features of Norwich West include several large housing estates, industrial areas, the University of East Anglia, the City Academy, shopping areas with major retailers, locally based shops, parks and green spaces and a wide variety of places of worship, youth facilities, and facilities for the more vulnerable in society.
  • The University itself consists of 15,000 students, including 3,000 foreign students. Many of these young people also live on the area.
  • It is close to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and has good road links to the County, being near the Norwich Southern Bypass.
