Key Facts

• The Hellesdon and Horsford Neighbourhood Policing Team has responsibility for the predominately residential suburb of Hellesdon on the northern fringe of Norwich and the more rural satellite villages of Horsford, Newton St Faith and Horsham St Faith.
• There are several industrial estates in Hellesdon that have major retailers such as ASDA, PC World and B & Q. This brings with it some degree of retail crime, however, the area in general has extremely low levels of crime and disorder and as a result the public have high expectations and rightly demand that these levels are maintained and further reduced.
• The biggest challenge for the police is to deal appropriately with the low-level anti-social behaviour and damage that is often associated with youth and alcohol. Complaints are generally focused on noise nuisance and inappropriate or inconsiderate use of motor vehicles by a small minority of individuals. These are actively targeted by the team. We have strong links to all the local schools and positively engage with local youths having set up a very successful youth club. This has resulted in a large reduction in crime and disorder.
