Key Facts

  • The Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit Neighbourhood is situated in the West of Norwich and is bordered by Earlham Road, Bunkers Hill, Sweetbriar Road, Guardian Road and Farrow Road. It has a population of approximately 18,000 people and measures two miles square. The population is made up of ninety five percent of people who class themselves as white British with the other five percent of ethnic minority groups.
  • The neighbourhood is primarily a residential area, with local housing authorities providing the larger share of the homes. The area has seen a number of recent housing developments which have seen a growth in private home ownership, particularly at the old Bowthorpe School site.
  • There are a number of churches and community centres throughout the locality which service the community. We are also lucky enough to have the extremely successful community organisation Future Projects, which is the home of Future Radio.

Priorities

  • September 2011 - To address ongoing anti-social behaviour issues along the Cadge Road corridor including the community centre, Cadge Close and the Earlham Green Lane junction with Cunningham Road.
  • September 2011 - To target traffic incidents including driving while using a mobile phone, speeding and cycling on pavements in Larkman Lane, Dereham Road, Earlham Green Lane and Bowthorpe Road.
  • September 2011 - To address issues around criminal damage and speeding motorcycles on the Leewood Crescent, in Marlpit.
