Key Facts

  • The Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit Neighbourhood is situated in the West of Norwich and is bordered by Earlham Road, Bunkers Hill, Sweetbriar Road, Guardian Road and Farrow Road. It has a population of approximately 18,000 people and measures two miles square. The population is made up of ninety five percent of people who class themselves as white British with the other five percent of ethnic minority groups.
  • The neighbourhood is primarily a residential area, with local housing authorities providing the larger share of the homes. The area has seen a number of recent housing developments which have seen a growth in private home ownership, particularly at the old Bowthorpe School site.
  • There are a number of churches and community centres throughout the locality which service the community. We are also lucky enough to have the extremely successful community organisation Future Projects, which is the home of Future Radio.

Get involved

There are many ways that you can get actively involved in improving the quality of life in your neighbourhood. 

You can influence how your local community is policed by reporting any issues or concerns to us by phone or e-mail or by coming along to one of our regular public meetings or engagement events to speak to a local officer in person.

You can become part of the local policing family and use skills you already have by working in your spare time as a Police Support Volunteer or a member of the Special Constabulary.

You can work with your Safer Neighbourhood Team to join or set up a HomeWatch scheme in your street to stay ahead of local crime and community safety issues where you live.
