Following CPS advice, no further action will be taken against
the two men arrested in connection with the death of a 23 year old
man outside the White Lion public house in Toft Monks at the
beginning of the year.
This matter will now proceed to inquest.

Following the death of Lee Goldsmith after an incident in Toft
Monks on New Year's Day, Sunday 1 January 2012, his family has
issued the following tribute:
"Mr and Mrs Goldsmith are devastated following the loss of their
youngest son, Lee, on New Year’s Day.
"Lee, aged 23, was a treasured son, brother, uncle and friend.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
"The family request they are permitted this time in private to
grieve their loss."

Further tests are set to be carried out to establish the cause
of death of a young man who died following an
incident near Beccles on New Year's Day.
Lee Goldsmith, 23, of Toft Monks, sadly died in the James Paget
University Hospital where he had been taken following an
incident in the village's Mardle Road.
Police had been called to a disturbance outside the White Lion
public house at about 3.15am.
Two men, aged 45 and 38, arrested at the scene in connection
with the incident have since been released on bail pending further
enquiries.
Mr Goldsmith's death continues to be treated as unexplained
following a Home Office post mortem carried out on 1 January and
detectives await the outcome of further tests.
The investigation is being led by the Norfolk and Suffolk Major
Investigation Team (MIT).
Police can confirm that one of the men arrested was an off-duty
Norfolk police officer. The matter has been referred to the
Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and the
officer suspended pending the outcome of enquiries.
