Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service in Norfolk officers have today (Wednesday 7 March 2012) charged a third male in connection with the robbery at a jewellery shop in King’s Lynn in January.

18 year old Ossama Hamed from Fulham has been charged with robbery and having a firearm with criminal intent.

The incident took place at Francis Wain Jewellers on Norfolk Street around 9.50am on Tuesday 31 January 2012.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before King's Lynn Magistrates court on Tuesday 13 March.

Two men charged with robbery at King's Lynn jewellers have been remanded in custody.

20-year-old Ibrahim Lahouidek of Verdi Crescent, London, and a 16-year-old male from the Fulham area, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Saturday 3 March and were remanded until the next court hearing on Monday 19 March.

Detectives have tonight (Friday 2 March 2012) charged two males in connection with the robbery at a jewellers shop in King’s Lynn in January.

The incident took place at Francis Wain Jewellers on Norfolk Street around 9.50am on Tuesday 31 January 2012.

Officers from King's Lynn CID continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery which took place yesterday morning (Tuesday 31 January) at a jewellers shop in King’s Lynn.

Currently a number of enquiries in relation to witnesses of the raid at Francis Wain Jewellers on Norfolk Street at about 9.50am are being carried out. Officers are also speaking to local residents and undertaking forensic and CCTV investigations.

Detectives are still keen to speak to anyone who saw the offenders in the Pilot Street/North Street area of the town or either of the offending vehicles prior or after the incident.

The offenders are described as both white with the first man being 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing a grey two piece tracksuit and hood with a white scarf covering his face. The second man is described as between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall and of average build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black long sleeved hooded top, with a grey short sleeved T-shirt over it and black trainers with white soles. This man was also carrying a small JD sports bag.

Detective Inspector Stuart Chapman from King’s Lynn CID said: “Our enquiries continue and we’d still like to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area prior to the incident and also immediately after. We are particularly interested in a silver coloured BMW that was seen in convoy with the silver Mercedes people carrier around the area of the town centre prior to and after the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw any suspicious activity prior to the incident should contact King’s Lynn CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a jewellers shop that took place in King’s Lynn this morning. (Tuesday 31 January).

Officers were called to Francis Wain Jewellers on Norfolk Street at about 9.50am this morning after receiving reports that a silver Mercedes people carrier had pulled up outside the premises with smoke being described coming from the vehicle now believed to be from a fire extinguisher.

Two males then entered the store wearing hoodies and scarves around their faces armed with a sledge hammer and what is described as a handgun. The men then caused damage to the shop and various items of value taken. The vehicle then made off in the direction of Chapel Street.

The males are described as white males - one male was 6 foot tall, slim build with grey two piece tracksuit and hood, white scarf covering his face.

The second male is described as 5’8 – 5’10, average build, wearing a black long sleeved hoodie, with a grey short sleeved T-shirt over the top and black trainers with white soles. This male was carrying a small JD sports bag.

No shots were fired in the incident. A female member of the public received treatment from ambulance crew after collapsing nearby and It is thought this was due to the incident taking place. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this.

A seal was placed on the scene and enquiries are on-going. A vehicle matching the description of the one involved was found a short while later on near-by, along with abandoned clothing on Pilot Street. It is believed that the offenders have made off from this location towards North Street Kings Lynn.

Staff members in the shop at the time were shaken but unharmed.

We are particularly interested in a silver coloured BMW that was seen in convoy with the offending vehicle around the area of the town centre prior to and after the incident, we are currently looking at CCTV footage, as well as carrying out forensic enquiries and taking statements from various witnesses.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a jewellers shop that took place in King’s Lynn this morning. (Tuesday 31 January).

Officers were called to Francis Wain Jewellers on Norfolk Street at about 9.50am this morning after receiving reports that a silver Mercedes people carrier had pulled up outside the premises.

Three men were in the vehicle at the time and a window of the jewellers was smashed with various items of value taken. It is thought firearms of some description were seen with the suspects.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw any suspicious activity prior to the incident should contact King’s Lynn CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
