Stolen Mousehold plaque returned
18 November 2011
A plaque which was stolen from a memorial in Mousehold Heath in
Norwich has been returned after it was recovered from a scrap
yard.
The RH Mottram plaque was stolen from the memorial in May this
year and later recovered after bosses at a Norwich scrap site
alerted police after receiving the item.
Last month a 28-year-old man was given an unpaid work order
after appearing at Norwich Crown Court in connection with the
incident. He pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods after he was
captured on CCTV taking the plaque to a scrap yard in Norwich.
Investigating officer PC James Boakes is pictured with Vicky
Manthorpe from the Norwich Society which hopes to get the plaque
reinstated.
