A Norfolk woman has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after cashing a false cheque for more than £2,500 at a Norwich store.

21 year old Georgina Clare Crump of St Edmunds Court, Thetford pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to fraud by false representation.

On Friday 20 November last year, Crump presented a cheque for more than £2,500 to Cash Converters, St Benedicts Street, Norwich which was cashed.  It was then discovered that the cheque had been altered from the original value of £25.08.

At Norwich Crown Court on Thursday 2 September, Crump was sentenced to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the community and given a six month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
