Milk money theft - Loddon
Police are reminding people not to leave money
on their doorstep following a theft in the South Norfolk
area.
A resident of Kirby Cane, Loddon
reported to police that they left money outside their front
door on the evening of the 14 May for the milkman. On
checking the next morning, the money had gone, but before the
milkman had been.
Inspector James Brown of the Loddon SNT
said: “I am sad to hear that this kind of crime is happening
in the area. I would urge neighbours to be vigilant and
report to their local police SNT should they see anyone they don’t
recognise acting in a suspicious way in their
neighbourhood.”
There are ways to prevent becoming a victim of
this:
- Talk to your milk delivery person – arrange a
safe place (out of view) where you will leave your money on
collection days
- Don’t leave payments on show in an obvious
place that can be seen by anyone walking past.
- There are ways now to pay for your milk by
direct debit – speak to your local delivery person for detail on
how to do this
- Keep an eye out for your neighbours – be
aware of who is approaching front doors.
