People living in the Wells area, struggling to
keep up with advances in technology, are being encouraged to
continue to keep up-to-date with top tips from local
youngsters.
The ‘Technology Hour’ team, who have held a
number of successful workshops in Wells, are taking their workshops
on the road with the help of the community mini-bus to offer help
and advice to those living further afield.
The sessions will take place on Saturday 20
November at the following locations:
- Wells Maltings car park from 10am until
11am
- Blakeney Harbour Room car
park from 11.30am until 12.30pm
- Walsingham Village Hall from
1pm until 2pm
The ‘Technology Hour’ event aims to provide
people struggling with new technology, such as email accounts,
iPod, digital cameras and texting, advice and tips to help with
technical problems.
The event is being run as part of Community
Action Through Sport (CATS) by the Wells Area Partnership and the
Wells Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT).
Local youths will be supported by Ben Francis
from the Wells Area Partnership and Police Community Support
Officer (PCSO) Becky Taylor, as they offer a helping hand to those
in need of technology master class.
PCSO Taylor said: “The workshops have proven
to be very successful so far, so the young people were keen take
the sessions on the road and offer advice to residents in other
areas.
“As with previous sessions, people are
encouraged to bring along their phones, cameras and laptops along
to the sessions so that they can work through their queries in a
face-to-face session with one of our volunteers”
CATS is a project which aims to help young
people be proactive in the community.
