Roads policing officers are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the A47.

The incident took place at shortly before 10am yesterday Wednesday 31 July 2013 on the Acle Straight close to the junction with Branch Road.

A white Renault Premium HGV lorry was travelling towards Norwich followed by a black Vauxhall Astra. A grey 599cc Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction when it collided with some debris in the road and subsequently the Astra.

The 36-year-old motorcyclist received serious leg and arms injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment. He remains at hospital where he is described as being in a stable condition.

The road was closed until around 2.30pm to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have witnessed the incident or seen any of the vehicles prior to the collision.

Police are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A47 Acle Straight.

The incident involving a motorcycle and car happened close to the Halvergate turning shortly before 10am today.

Emergency services including the air ambulance are on the scene and the road has been closed with traffic diverted via the A1064 and A149.
