Police are renewing their appeal to trace the driver of a lorry
who may have witnessed a fatal road traffic collision on the
A47.
Kim Utting sadly died in the collision at Dereham on the morning
of Thursday 14 February 2013. She was the passenger in a green
Peugeot 406 travelling eastbound which was in collision with a red
Skoda Felicia travelling westbound. The male driver of the Skoda
was seriously hurt and remains in hospital where his condition is
improving.
Steve Matthews of the Serious Collision Investigation Team said:
“I am still trying to trace the driver of a lorry which was driving
towards Norwich eastbound. The lorry had a white cab and what
appeared to be something reflective tied to its offside wing
mirror. Its flatbed semi-trailer was unladen and it failed to stop
at the scene. The driver may have important information about the
collision and I would urge them to get in contact as soon as
possible.”
Officers would also still like to speak to the driver of a small
black Peugeot hatchback car which was seen driving erratically
towards Norwich and overtook the green Peugeot and the lorry.
Anyone with information on these vehicles should contact the
Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.

The family of Kim Utting, who sadly died in a road traffic
collision on the A47 at Dereham on Thursday 14 February 2013, has
issued the following tribute:
"Kim Utting (nee Dodd) aged 52 was born in Shipdham,
daughter of Donald and June Dodd, sister to Susan Boldero and Peter
Dodd.
Kim attended Shipdham Primary School and then Wayland High
School at Watton. On leaving school Kim worked at Watton Post
Office for several years. She married Ken Knight in 1981 and they
had two children, Emma (30) and Jamie (29).
Kim ran boarding kennels at Wood Rising for many years. During
this time she set up and ran the Old English Mastiff Club Rescue.
After selling the business to PACT Animal Sanctuary, Kim moved to
Litcham where she married David Utting and had a third child,
Dudley (11).
Kim was very prominent in the Dog Show Scene; having enjoyed
great success in breeding and showing English Mastiffs during which
she was known under the ‘Heffalump’ Affix. Having had four
champions, her highlight being ‘Womble’ winning best of breed at
Crufts in 2008 her most recent champion success was with ‘Hovis’,
Womble’s son, who was runner up top Mastiff 2012.
Kim also ran Companion Dog Shows for a number of years, raising
money for Mastiff rescue.
Kim always had a smile on her face and was a very kind, caring
and affectionate person. She was loved by everyone she met and will
be very sadly missed by all her family, friends and those who knew
her through her passion - the dog show scene."
Officers would still like to speak to any witnesses to this
collision, which occurred at 10.30am last Thursday, particularly
the drivers of a white flatbed unladen lorry and a small black
Peugeot car, both of which failed to stop at the scene.
