Police at Gorleston are appealing for information after five moped thefts in the space of a few days at the end of last month.

The incidents include -

  • A 50cc moped being stolen from Cherry Close in Bradwell between 11pm on Sunday 27 and 6.30am on Monday 28 January. The vehicle was later recovered in the childrens play ar

  • A Peugeot moped taken from Windsor Way in Gorleston between 12.30am and 7am on Monday 28 January.
  • An orange and black moped stolen from Kings Road in Gorleston between 11.30am on Sunday 27 and 10.15am on Monday 28.
  • A moped that was found by police, traced as being stolen from a home at Peterhouse Avenue in Gorleston.
  • And a motorcycle stolen from the front garden of a home at Springfield Road in Gorleston between 6pm on Monday 28 and 8am on Tuesday 29 January.

In all the cases the vehicles were found dumped in the Bradwell or Magdalen area.

Police arrested three males from Gorleston - a 22-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy - on suspicion of theft after three people were seen riding a moped on the evening of Tuesday 29 January.

All three have been bailed to return to police on February 27 as officers investigate the thefts.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about any of the incidents, or anyone who may have seen what may have appeared to be 'joyriding' on mopeds in the area, to come forward. If you can help please call PC Joe Simon at Gorleston Police Station on 101.
