Norfolk Constabulary’s Cold Case Team was set up in August 2008 to investigate murders, missing people and serious sexual offences which have not be resolved and in some cases stretch right back to the 1960s.

Using advances in forensic science such as DNA familial profiling and the experience of current and retired senior detectives, the team review each individual case and try to find new information which could help resolve each enquiry.

Reaching new audiences such as those who use the internet and, in particular, Facebook and Twitter, could help to bring forward information the team may not have had access to in the past.

The team is based in Wymondham within the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation team (MIT) and is made up of five police staff including a Cold Case Manager and four Enquiry Officers. The team reports to DCI Jes Fry, senior lead detective in the MIT.
