Police Support Volunteer
Volunteers can help us engage with people from our local
communities and this will help us improve the service we give to
the people of Norfolk.
We operate in a very challenging and rewarding environment and
our goal is to have our volunteers involved in as many aspects of
our service as possible.
We want to involve volunteers with a variety of skills and
abilities so that they can carry out tasks normally carried out by
our police officers and PCSOs. This will release their time to
focus on policing duties.
There are many opportunities available - here are just a
few:
- Assisting our Safer Neighbourhood teams
- Being extras in role-playing training
- CCTV monitoring
- Restorative Justice duties.
Giving us just a little bit of your time could
have a real impact on your community. As a police support volunteer
you will be a key member of our police family which includes police
officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), support staff
and the Special Constabulary.
We can use your skills and abilities to:
- Carry out tasks to free up our officers'
time
- Strengthen our links with the community
- Improve our service.
In return, we can offer you:
- Personal development
- A sense of achievement
- New and improved skills
- A chance to meet new people
- The opportunity to make a positive
contribution to YOUR community.
How much time do I need to give
you?
It is entirely up to you. As much or as
little as you want to.
Do I receive expenses?
Yes, we will reimburse all reasonable travelling expenses to
you.
Where will I be based?
We aim to locate
you within your own local community.
