Forensic submissions & intelligence
Norfolk Constabulary spends in the region of £1.5 million each
year on external forensic analysis. The Submissions Team acts as
the 'gatekeeper' for all items submitted to and returned from the
external forensic laboratories and ensures that both evidential and
financial value is derived from these submissions. A key aspect of
this work is the submission of DNA samples for searching on the
National DNA Database.
The Force currently works in partnership with the following
forensic laboratories:
They also provide all specialist consumables and kits.
Forensic Intelligence is responsible for forensically-linking
scenes and ensuring that each forensic identification (both DNA and
fingerprints) is dealt with as quickly as possible.
